Trakehner Breeders' Fraternity
The Trakehner is a very old German Breed with a great history in the Equestrian World. This breed has some very distinctive features, such as their head being a similar tapered style of the Thoroughbred, with a broad forehead narrowing down to a neat muzzle, comparably long, tapered, and high-set ears. Their neck is long and strong neck that rests on long, sloping shoulders. The Trakehners back is strong, straight, medium-lengthed and is well-ribbed-up. This leads into characteristically flat, yet powerful hindquarters. Following is a gently sloped croup leading through to the tail. Their chest is deep set and roomy to allow for strong breathing and large lungs, making them a perfect competitive horse. Trakehners walk on lender, muscular legs, featuring clean, broad joints. They are hardy build, with short cannon bones. Excellent feet, with good, hard hooves in comparison to some other warmblood breeds.
