American Paint Horse Association
According to the breed standards set by the APHA a Paint Horse should have a small triangular head with alert eyes, wide forehead, small ears, small muzzle and strong throatlatch. A well sized neck should be slim, well positioned and mobile in the neck region, connected to a sloping muscular shoulder and muscular chest that transitions to a well defined wither. The short back with a powerful hindquarter ends in a sloping croup with low tail head. The whole horse should have a clear and agile fundament with small and hard hooves.
