The PRE is a powerful and elegant breed from Spain. Their characteristic head should be lean and rectangular, of medium length and with straight or subconvex profile. Their nose is smoothly curved outward and down to a tapered muzzle, with nostrils that are long, almond shaped and not prominent, medium sized and lively ears. The medium sized neck is attached tp discreetly wide and distinguished withers, which are in a smooth prolongation to the back line. The chest has good fullness and is deep, same as the ribcage. The back is solid, muscular and close to straight and relatively short. The length of the back should roughly correspond to the height of the horse. The PREs legs should be well developed with good bone, all joints being dry and lean. Their hooves are dense and of balanced dimensions. PRE should move agile, high, expressive, harmonious, and rhythmic. Impression of moving uphill and forward.
