Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry
This sturdy breed from Norway is known for its distinctive dun colourations and dorsal stripe. The breed is described to be square in format, with a strong back and short, dry legs. The Fjords head is straight and big with small alert ears and warm eyes, connected to a strong and wide neck, that is often pointed out by the standing mane. A fjord stands around 135-150cm in height and moves calmly, aiming to save engergy as they were commonly used in hard work. Their overall body build is well muscled and proportioned, however there is a draftier type and sportier type within the breed.
