Shetland Pony Studbook society
Shetland Ponies originate from the Shetland Isles and are known for their small body height but strong character. However, they do not exceed 107cm in height. Shetties have a thick set and strong body with deep well sprung ribs. The neck should be properly set onto the shoulder, which in turn should be sloping, not upright, and end in a well defined wither. Their legs are strong and well shaped. They are known to be very calm and hardy, as well as great with kids.
